Natalie Novak Remplakowski is a Polish-Canadian director, screenwriter and producer based in both Toronto and New York City with over a decade of broad experience in both scripted live-action and narrative nonfiction work for all platforms; theatrical, television and digital.

Born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario to Polish émigrés, Natalie grew up immersed in the Polish-Canadian community’s performing arts. Natalie went on to obtain a BFA in Theatre with a Specialized Honours in Acting from York University.

She is presently pursuing her MFA in screenwriting/directing at NYU TISCH School of the Arts. 

In October 2023, Natalie was a participant in the WARSAW NEXT debut feature filmmaker workshop as part of the 39th Warsaw International Film Festival with her screenplay titled MY MOTHER’S TONGUE.

Select directing credits include her short film REAL LOVE, BABY (2022) WINNER of Best Romantic Comedy Award at both the Georgia Comedy Film Festival and Portland Comedy Film Festival. The film was also a selection at the Great Canadian Comedy Film Festival, the Austin Comedy Film Festival and the Hollywood Comedy Shorts Film Festival. The short film NOLA (2024) co-directed, written by and starring Aisha Evelyna is set to premiere on the festival circuit this year as well as the music-drama MERMAIDS (2024) starring Emily Coutts and Nancy McArthur. 

Prior to the NYU graduate film program, Natalie worked at a film production company based in Toronto as an associate producer working on films such as Viggo Mortensen’s directorial debut FALLING (Sundance, Cannes, TIFF 2020), PERCY VS GOLIATH starring Christopher Walken, Christina Ricci and Zach Braff, and SLASH/BACK (SXSW 2022), an Arctic set sci-fi about a group of teen Inuit girls that fight off an alien invasion. 

Select producing credits include the 6-time Canadian Screen Award nominated comedy series THE COMMUNIST’S DAUGHTER (The Hollywood Reporter) and the feature documentary ONLY CHILD (2022) which premiered at the Galway Film Festival in 2022.

Natalie is the founder and principal at Citrine Productions. The feature drama, SEAHORSE, written, directed by and starring Aisha Evelyna, a recipient of Telefilm Canada’s Talent to Watch Program is scheduled for production for the summer of 2024 in Toronto.
